Leaving DS behind...what do I need to do?

in Parenting after 35
DH and I will be leaving next week for a cruise and DS will be staying with grandma (my mother) at our house.  Besides the obvious (insurance card; emergency contact; travel info; cash, credit card etc.) What else should I leave with her?

    Since they'll be at your house, I can't think of anything material.. other than making sure you put the car seat in her vehicle or make sure you leave her the keys to your vehicle.

    And you can tell I haven't had caffeine yet... I thought this was about you leaving your husband!!  :)

    He's great.  Weather is FINALLY warming up here so I think it's a park day!  I have tons of pictures but can't find the patch cable to download them.

    You need to leave a medical consent form stating that your mother is authorized to handle medical care (if needed) for T when you are gone. (ex. if he needs to go to the ER.)  It's just a precaution. I believe forms are easily downloaded off various sites. No time to Google however.

    Definitely make sure to get this form.  Some doctors in NM will refuse to see a child if one of the parents aren't present.

    I would think she'd be okay since she looks after him normally. Like, she probably knows his favorite lovies, snacks and toys. Sounds like your list is pretty good.

    It's exiting that it's coming up so quickly :)

    I would leave her names with phone numbers of people that you trust to watch LO in case she has her own emergency.  I know it is a rare thing, but it does happen.
