If your baby sleeps 5+hrs...

Do they sleep in a crib/bassinet (flat on their back) or in a rock&play/bouncer (reclined but not flat)?

She has slept flat since she was 2 weeks and has slept 6.5-8 hours through the night since 4 weeks.

  • In her RNP... She has been a completely different baby since we moved her over into that. She used to sleep 2-3 hours at a time flat in her PNP, but we found out that she has pretty bad acid reflux. Now she's sleeping between 5-8 hours overnight. It makes me want to bake cookies for the entire staff at Fisher Price.

  • Rock & Play.  We went from 2-3 hours at a time in a bassinet (flat) to usually 7-8 hours in the reclined RnP.

I've gotta move her to the crib at some point I guess...glad to see lots of PPs have had success in the crib.

  • flat in a co-sleeper bassinet. He sleeps anywhere from 5-7.5 hours at a stretch, but it took until he was 6 weeks old for that to happen.
  • RnP He'll sleep flat on his back, but he likes the tighter feeling of the RnP instead of having room to move around.

  • He sleeps in his swing now, and will sleep from about 8:30 pm until usually anywhere from 4 am - 6 am, and then will usually go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours after he eats.  I'd really like to get him used to his crib again (he used to sleep there every night until we thought he might have acid reflux, so we moved him to his swing) but every time I put him in his crib, he'll never sleep longer than 2-3 hours at a time, so I've been kind of putting it off because I love my uninterrupted sleep at night :(

  • DD has been for the past week sleeping about 7 hrs a night on her tummy in her PNP/bassinet attachment.   On her back she would only sleep a couple of hours at a time, and actually getting her to sleep was very hard.  Now I just set her in, and she falls right asleep.

HOWEVER, I didn't start doing this until I could tell she had really good neck control.  When playing on her tummy time mat, she would move her head from side to side without ever stopping in the middle, and would nap occasionally there for a few hours with supervision.  Now that's the only way she does sleep.
