Water used with formula?

I BF DS#1 so I am new to this. Can I just use water from our Deer Park water cooler to make formula bottles with? Do I have to boil water first?

Re: Water used with formula?

  • I use water straight from the tap, I don't boil it.

  • We boil our tap water, but I am going to speak to his dr about it at his 2 month checkup.  Last time we saw her (at 5 days old), I was bfing.  I'm hoping we can stop boiling it, it's kind of a PITA to boil and then let it cool again - we have to be really organized!!

Me Three. We used to boil but dont anymore. If we go somewhere that has different water (traveling) we use bottled water as apparently they can get upset tummies from different tap water

  • I use filtered water. Out of a bottle, or gallon, or whatever. I don't drink my tap water, so I don't give it to DD either.

If I had to use tap, I'd boil.

  • We use baby water. Used tap water with our older daughter and she ended up with a really high lead level. Since then we also get regular letters about the toxins in our city water. Needless to say, we don't use city water for much of anything.
  • strictly baby water.

  • i use baby water in the gallon jug.  i just let it sit out on the counter next to the formula so it's always room temperature.
