2nd Trimester

Seriously, when did you start to really feel better?

Ok, I've done this twice before, but this pg has kicked my butt in a way my first 2 never even got close to doing.....I feel awful right now and it's making me feel depressed- like I'm paranoid it will never end and I will feel like this until Nov.!  The rational side of me says I KNOW it will get better....is it still too early for me to be feeling better now?  i don't remember when I got better with the first 2, b/c I never felt this bad.  Thank you :)

  • It took me until 16 weeks... I kept waiting as soon as I hit 2nd trimester.. But it took a few weeks to settle. Hang in there!

  • 14wks on the nose with both pregnancies the nausea subsided and I was much less tired. Good luck!
  • I just started feeling better last week (18 weeks). It was gradual, and I still get nauseated if I let my stomach get too empty, but I'm finally starting to understand what people are talking about when they talk about the 2nd tri feel-goods.

  • 17-18 weeks. It was a slow and steady climb back to feeling good. I hear that some people feel better over night but not me... My m/s was worst by far in week 12 and didn't start going away until 14 weeks.

  • I never really had nausea too bad except for a couple days in the 1st tri but my hormones were CRAZYYYYY. There were days I would wake up and just want to cry all day or days I would just be a raging b*tch, but that seemed to go away around 14-15 weeks. I actually feel better now than I do when I wasn't pregnant, go figure!

  • I think I was around 14/15 weeks when it just stopped. I was SO sick my first trimester. I threw up all the time. I heard people saying morning sickness gets into a routine and you usually feel sick more at one time of the day. I was nauseas and throwing up all day.

  • At 17 weeks my m/s finally stopped, and I don't mean tapered off, it went from hugging the toilet every morning to feeling fabulous. Around 20 weeks I got some energy back and I've been fine & dandy since then.

  • I wonder the same thing.  I haven't thrown up for almost two weeks!! But am still nauseated a lot.  In the past week I have started to feel better. I will be 20 weeks on Friday so I am hoping it keeps getting better!
  • I'm just starting to feel really good. I'm 22 weeks, but I never really got any morning sickness at all. I was always really fatigued and irritable and had absolutely NO energy.

I feel much better now... But I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I just started exercising again, something I never had the energy or mood for before, so I just bit the bullet, and now I sleep a lot better and my moods are a lot better, even though I'm still always tired.

  • I am hitting the 2nd trimester tomorrow (yay!) and I never had a lot of nausea but more than I did with DD.  I went two days where I felt great-little to no nausea, less fatigue, no headache.  Then this morning I threw up twice. Sad  I guess I am still waiting for it to get better. I am wearing sea bands right now. Ick!

  • I felt much better at 16 wks. I was on zofran 9th-14th wk.   I still can't look at chicken, but that's a work in progress.  Although the nausea is gone now, I have a whole new set of ligament issues to deal with.     Check with your Dr, but one thing that helped me in wk 13+ was a morning biscotti and a cup of coffee.

PS - did I miss an announcement on the other board?? Congrats!! :)
