Pregnant after a Loss

Feel differently this pregnancy?

I am 7wks1d into my second pregnancy- 1st one ended in a missed mc.  With the 1st pregnancy I had no indication that the baby didn't have a heartbeat- no bleeding, no major cramping, nothing.  SO now with this pregnancy I feel fine again-- just the normal nausea, tiredness and sore bbs... which I also had last time right up until the u/s which showed no heartbeat.  I did have an u/s at 6w5d where I could see a flicker of a heartbeat.  Of course this made me feel better for about a day... and then the worries set in again.

Anyone have a m/c and then have similar symptoms the next pregnancy?  Did the 2nd pregnancy go to term and was a success?

So worried... which I know is normal  :-)

  • You're right, its totally normal to feel the way you do.  I had a successful pregnancy, a natural m/c and now what looks (and hopes and prays) to be another successful pregnancy.  My early symptoms for all three were about the same.  The great thing about this pregnancy is that due to the loss, I got a lot of early attention from the doctors office, just to ease my mind.  They were great about early ultrasounds and appointments every three weeks instead of four.  Its so hard to be PgAL, but all you can really do at this point is put your faith in your body and your pregnancy, do everything you can to take care of yourself, and take it one day at a time.  Good luck.

  • I think it's so normal to be worried. Although we have found the baby in my uterus [as opposed to my tube] I'm still worried!

It's such a miracle to be pregnant and carry a baby to full term. You are a good momma and will be worrying about this little peanut for a long time coming!

  • I'm right there with you, just one week ahead.  I felt so much relief when I saw the heartbeat but it just didn't last long.  I keep wanting this pregnancy to somehow feel different so that I can feel like the outcome will be different as well.  I can't wait until my next appointment and hope there's some kind of u/s or doppler involved or I might just stage a sit-in.  Wink
