Help! Mothers Day Ideas....

Well we're 37 weeks pregnant with 19 days til DD. My DH is unfortunately unemployed & my last day of work is tomorrow. So to say that we're on a tight budget is an understatement.

What do we do for our Mothers for Mothers day? We're beyond broke & expecting our LO, & not going to have $ anytime soon, with maternity leave disability checks.

Re: Help! Mothers Day Ideas....

  • Ummm ... buy her a cute pot of flowers with a note, get her a card, go print out a favorite pic of you two and put it in a cute frame (go to Marshalls or TJ Max), or bake her a bunch of flower shaped sugar cookies with pastel colored frosting (then bag it up really cute with a ribbon and note).

All cheap options. It's the thought that counts!

  • Are they (mothers) local?  Cook a yummy brunch!  No need to go crazy.

  • We're tight on money too.  We're just going to my mom's for breakfast and to dinner with DH's family for his mom.  Maybe just a card and flowers or something.  It's your mom, she understands!

  • We are also a bit tight on money ATM since I have been on bed rest unexpectedly for the past 9 weeks.  We just got each of our mothers a $1.00 card and tucked in an u/s picture.  They both live out of state and so they haven't had the chance to really see the pictures clearly.

i love giving great memorable gifts, but right now i am so broke and still saving for my $250 deductable! ive got 3 mamas i have to buy for. i splurged and bought nice halmark cards and mailed them to the mamas far away. for my mama: card, me cooking a cheaper dinner, $15 cake from sams club.

you can def go cheaper on the cards if needed. the DG aka dollar general has a great selection of cards for $1 or .50c.  and the cards dont have $1 printed as the price on the back. so the price you pay is btwn you and the cashier.

for my husbands mama i also made a corsage and mailed it so she could wear to church this sunday.

  • we told my mothr n law that we wud give her her "gift" when she comes later in the month. this way we v got her something for the day but have time to prepare something a lil special for her :)
