for moms who's LOs sleep in their own rooms

How many times a night do you go into the nursery to check on LO while they are aleeping. I find myself wanting to do it constantly lol but it prob only averages out to about 6 times a night

  • I would say 2 or 3.  Depending on what we hear on the monitor.  I have the monitor right next to my head so I hear everything.

We have a Summer Video monitor. I absolutely love it because I can wake up, roll over, and hear/see him breathing. It's given me some peace of mind and better sleep. I probably wake up 4 times to check the monitor. Highly recommend it!!!

  • Thank goodness I have a video monitor which allows me to see w/o having to go in.  Since DD is a loud sleeper, it has been a blessing!

  • Usually only once when she wakes up to feed. I've only checked on her when she's sleeping in the morning once when she 'slept in' until 8am.

  • Whenever DH or I get up to go to the bathroom we'll peek in on her.

  • Our baby isn't sleeping through the night, and we only check on him when we get up to feed him.  We have a video monitor, but I only really look at it immediately after I put him down to determine if he's going to go to sleep or not (we put him down awake but drowsy).

  • Rarely. I have the monitor by my head so I hear everything. If she makes a weird noise then I will but she doesnt make much noise. She is either asleep or awake.
  • I check on her as I'm going to bed and that's it.  I never checked on DS - the smallest noise always woke him up.  DD sleeps deeply so I can sneak in and watch her for a few minutes as I'm heading to bed.

  • I only check on him during naps and before we go to bed for the night.  Otherwise, never.  I have a Summer video monitor, so I can just roll over and see him on the monitor to make sure he's okay.

I check on him when I go to bed and then go in when he wakes up to eat, which is every 3 hours still. DH checks him once more before he comes to bed, and checks in on him before he leaves for work at 5 am

  • Never.  I'm afraid I'll wake him up.

  • He goes to bed between 8-9 and we go to bed at 2am so I will check on him right before we go to bed but that is all.

  • Once in awhile, we'll peek in to check on our DS right as we're going to bed, especially if we've heard weird noises on the monitor while we were downstairs.  We don't keep a monitor in our room because his room is right next to ours and all of his tiny little noises just keep us awake.  Then, if he wakes up during the night, obviously I'll go in and check on him, but that's really all, unless he sleeps unusually long in the morning, which has only happened a couple of times.  DS is a light sleeper, though, so I'm always afraid that I'll wake him up if I go into his room.
