If you have a lawn care company....

What do you pay a month?  Trying to get a general idea of the range of rates.

And what does that include?  A cut, edge and blow?  Or are chemicals and shrub/tree maintenance included?

Re: If you have a lawn care company....

  • We pay our guy $60/visit.  Includes cut, edge, blow and whatever else general maintenance needs doing.  Trimming shrubs, raking leaves, planting flowers, weeding beds etc.  We paid a flat fee to have a spring clean when we first started working for us and had to clean the yard.   We have a separate company for lawn/shrub chemicals.

  • We pay $150 a month. Ours includes weekly cut, edge, and blow, as well as chemicals and shrub/tree maintenance. We have a yearly contact so he only comes out every two weeks in the fall and winter to remove leaves, prune, and winterize our lawn. Otherwise it is weekly.

We live on (between) .25 and .50 acres. I figured I would mention that part as well. :)

  • We pay $40 each visit but we have a tiny yard.  That includes cut, edge, blowing.  We also pay him $40 a 2-3 times a year to do our shrubs, trim the crepe myrtle in the winter, etc.  He cuts our neighborhood common areas and a lot of our neighbors use him too.  I saw him cutting the grass in the common area and just walked up and asked him how much he would charge.  Basically, I was sick of waiting for DH to do it!

  • Oh and we pay Northwest to do the weed/shrub treatments.  I think it's about $30 per treatment.  About the same as Truegreen was... but they let my backyard die so I dumped them this year.

We pay $160/mo with no contract for the above mentioned services.  If you sign a year long contract it's cheaper but we felt we did not need lawn service in the winter when our bermuda grass is dormant.
