I know there are post like this, but I see there has been more action lately so hoping to get more insight:)
I am looking for a doctor who is near Dublin and delivers at Dublin Methodist/Riverside. I
have heard the name of these practices and the doctors listed below. I
would love positive and negative feedback. Doctors knowledge, patience,
bedside manor, "delivery strategy" (natural, c-section), wait
time...etc...(anything important I don't know to ask yet:) !)
Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Harmon or Dr. Maffett
Are both hospitals equipped with good NICU in case there is a need?
Thank you for your help!
Re: Recommendations...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Ezzie. She's just so sweet, really easy to talk to and has a great bed-side manner. She has a couple of young daughters, so it wasn't that long ago that she was in our extra-wide-for-swollen-feet shoes. She's definitely not a "do as I say, not as I do" doctor either, which I love. That said, though, I had a very normal pregnancy, so I don't know how she would be in a more high-risk, complicated situation.
Following the birth of my son, though, I had some breast issues - first, found a lump while breastfeeding (it was nothing), and she took it VERY seriously and didn't mess around with getting me checked ASAP. I also dealt with a couple bouts of thrush (WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE) and she was very helpful with that too.
I usually saw Dr. Ezzie at the Dublin office, but due to a cancellation, I had to see her at her Grant office. The wait there was AWFUL, but at Dublin, it was fine. It's sometimes difficult to get an early appointment, but play nice with the receptionist and she'll usually let you schedule a few appointments out.
I don't know anyone who's had to deal with the NICU at Dublin Methodist, so I can't speak to that. Dublin is not ever busy (there was NO ONE in l&d when we did our tour), so you and your baby can get a lot of individual attention.
I also had Dr. Charles stop in and check on me during my stay, and she seemed really nice too.
GOOD LUCK!
