We moved about a month ago and haven't had any weekend free to do a moving/garage sale, and we have TONS of stuff we need to get rid of, just sitting in the garage waiting to sell and then after we try to sell, to donate the rest.
This Sunday is the only day we will have free to do a garage sale,well, before the end of the July that is. I just don't want to wait that long to get rid of all this stuff.
Would we be shooting ourselves in the foot by putting tons of work into a garage sale for mother's day, when we might not have anybody come? Or do you think that even though its mother's day, mother's and families would still enjoy going to garage sales? In my mind, if I wasn't hosting a garage sale, I would love to have the morning free to enjoy going out to garage/yard/moving sales before going out to brunch with the family, but I could just be abnormal. I typically am anyway.
WWYD? Should we do a garage sale this Sunday, or wait until the end of the July??
Thanks for the input ladies!!
Re: WWYD: Garage Sale on Mother's Day?
I agree. The hardcore garage sale people are going to be out no matter what day it is. Maybe just plan to wrap up a bit earlier than you normally would since most people who are out looking for garage sales tend to get there early in the day.
Good points. I think we'll do one and wrap up early and then still have time to do stuff with my mom (though she is coming to come help with the garage sale a non-traditional mother's day activity, eh?
)
Thanks for all the input. It is much appreciated!
