Can anyone recommend a family therapist?

I would prefer one on the east side area if at all possible, and it's important that they are great with children.

I could check with my insurance to see who is covered, but I'd rather have a real recommendation of someone that is good.  I don't really know how else to find one.

Re: Can anyone recommend a family therapist?

  • Hmmm...sorry, I can't speak for any specifically good with children.

I saw a therapist there last year, and she mentioned that she saw children. Even had a corner of her office with toys, stuffed animals, etc. to help illustrate when talking to them.

Not sure how far "east" you're looking, but they have several locations.

    GL!

  • DH used a therapist when his best friend died a few years ago. That branched into some couples therapy for us as well.  We loved her. Can't speak exclusively to the kids part, but given her nature, I'd say she'd be great. Her name is Nancy Nathan and this is best way to find her: https://www.healthgrades.com/health-professionals-directory/nancy-nathan-lisw-ea11a0b9  Aetna covered her FWIW. HTH.

Well, I'm pretty sure that any of the professionality I had during my initial response has gone out the window.

I didn't know how you felt about taking any of us on as patients/clients. I mean, you know how jacked up we all are. The board, alone, could keep you in business well into your 90's. Wink

Excellent. That way I won't have to set aside money for retirement, since I'll be working until I die. :)

I wasn't sure about that, either.  I kind of figured it would be better to keep friendship and therapy separate, but maybe I don't know better.

Justin is having a lot of issues right now, and we are not getting to the root of them, nor are we dealing with them in a way that seems to be getting through to him.  I am so frustrated and sad.
