The real teen moms - Teen Mops!

There's a high school out here with a Teen MOPS program!  DH's cousin spoke to the group today with ideas on free/almost free activities to do with your kids this summer.  Kind of crazy, but I guess it's great for them to have that support network of others in the same situation.

    We have a Teen MOPS program at our church.  It's been a wonderful resource for these young moms.  The Pastor from the church mentors the young fathers while the moms are at the MOPS class.  They have speakers, mentor moms and projects.  I don't agree with teenage pregnancy, but at least there is a great foundation out there for them to learn and build from.

    I'm not super familiar with MOPS (moms of preschoolers?), but I think it's great that there is some support out there for these moms. I love the idea of presenting free or cheap family activities! The babies are the ones who benefit the most when the moms are supported, and who can see anything wrong with that ? :)

    Totally agree.  In fact, I think they need it even more and I totally applaud teen moms who've made it through with their sanity intact and great kids.  Seriously, think about how hard it was/is to adjust to parenting and now think of yourself at 15 (or OMFG 12) and imagine how hard it would have been.
