I think I've made it fairly obvious that I've been struggling with Iz being here... Yesterday CT gave me a wonderful breakthough and now I feel at ease with Iz. We had an exceptional day yesterday, no timeouts, no frustration, everything felt normal and right.
A has been doing very well with school and Iz this past week. She is ready for summer break (in 1 month, yay!!!).
QOTD: My favorite scent memory from childhood is smelling the lilac bushes that my grandma had on either side on the stairs at the back of her house. Whenever I was outside playing I could smell them, and now when I come across lilacs I have to stop to smell them.
Butterfly - I am sooo happy things are starting to come together. It seems normal that the transition would be a bit rough, but I can only imagine how wonderful the future will be!!
TTC sucks. Hopefully we will have the $2000 to cycle again next month. My eggs are not getting any younger.
QOTD: I think my dad's after shave. He always got up and left really early in the morning, but I remember walking into the bathroom every morning and always thinking "this smells like Daddy" and just standing there for a minute.

My baby is one! This weekend was Henry's first bday party, which was great! I definitely got a little teary singing Happy Birthday to him But the party was really fun and Henry seemed to have a great time.
This week I also started, completely unplanned, to do some sleep training with Henry. He has been showing signs of being ready to learn to get himself to sleep, but I have been hesitant to do any sleep training with him because he's also (still!) teething, and I don't want to be denying him comfort when he's in pain. BUT, he has been fighting being rocked to sleep like a WILD CHILD, and I just couldn't take it anymore. So the other night, I just left the room to collect myself. Did not plan to let him CIO, because I knew that could potentially take hours. Well, much to my surprise, Henry was ASLEEP in TWENTY MINUTES. The skies parted, angels sang, etc, etc. So now we are sticking with it. So far, so good. I'm still going to him when he wakes later in the night, and he's coming into our bed when we go to sleep, but he is learning to get himself to sleep at the beginning of the night, wahoo!!
well, obviously my big news was my BFP on Monday. my beta came back great at 130, and I went in this morning for the second. I really wish they got the results same day, but I've got to wait until tomorrow morning to find out what they are. sigh.
in monkey news, he's finally starting to make specific sounds for specific things, so we are soooooo close to a breakthrough on talking I think. he's just such a great kid, so easygoing and so much fun, I'm loving every minute.
QOTD: um...I don't have any scent memories that I know of.
I think I've made it fairly obvious that I've been struggling with Iz being here... Yesterday CT gave me a wonderful breakthough and now I feel at ease with Iz. We had an exceptional day yesterday, no timeouts, no frustration, everything felt normal and right.
glad to hear it!
My others are still so young that I havent really had to test the theory yet, but I do think that (to a certain extent) we have to adjust our parenting for each different child. So i think what you are experiencing is very normal - but to a wildly greater degree than bio sibs. Keep being flexible patient with yourself and i'm sure everyday will feel like yesterday. keep up the good work mama

a similar thing happend with RB right around the same age! Andrea was home alone at bed time and attending to the other kids so she had no choice but to just put RB in her crib, expecting to be able to go back to her in 5-10 mintues for the usual routine of rocking/patting/bouncing. But as it turned out, within 5 minutes she was sleeping peacefully. at first it kinda broke my heart that she even had to cry for 5 minutes, but then i realized how ready she must have been for it and its been AMAZING ever since. Its actually been so amazing that i havent talked about it on here for fear of jinxing it
long story short - I feel your wahoo and am excited for you!
Looks like we are not going to be able to start this month like we planned - medical tests didn't come together in time. But there is so much going on that I'm not disappointed - a bit relieved, I think.
My grandma made these amazing yeast rolls, and strawberry freezer jam. The smell of one of her hot rolls with jam on it . . . well, there is just nothing like it.
I'm just back from Kindergarten Orientation. eeek. It was fun and cute and exciting but i'm feeling a little anxious about the whole thing. They split up the parents and kids - parents to an info session and Q&A, kids to a mock circle time that was really an evaluation by a panel of a K teacher, SLP, SPED teacher, and school psychologist. I'm really nervous about how Sprout did - he came out of the classroom acting a little wild...i'm hoping that's not how he was inside as well. That being said, when they split up the parents and kids, a bunch of the kids cried or clug to their parent while Sprout confidently went up to meet his teachers and be the class line leader - i was so proud!
Little miss RB is 18 months old today (why are my kids growing up??). And woo-wee that child is sassy. She also has the loudest cry on the planet. Long gone are the days of my easy going happy baby. Ugh. Everyone tells me that she's just getting her terrible 2s out of the way early...but I fear she may be ramping up. Just when i thought i tamed the terrible tantrumer in my house, a new star takes the stage.
At least I've got my sweet and easy Daisy. She might not be anywhere near STTN, but otherwise, she's a breeze and i'll take it!
QOTD: Apple trees. I grew up in a semi-rural area with a ton of apple orchards and fruit farms. I spent many many many days climbing trees, running through the orchards, and reading books nestled in the crook of a branch.
My baby has been sick for going on 6 days now. Apparently that vomit in the crib incident was not a fluke and she began again a few hours later. She has alternated between that and watery poo. After an ER visit (for possible dehydration) and a pedi vist (after I about broke down after she lost her entire dinner bottle, she has not had solids since Wednesday, all over my hallway floor last night) I am crossing my fingers the end is in sight. The pedi suggested we switch to soy for a few days to give her tummy time to rebuild the enzymes neede to digest milk she may have lost with all of the excessive output. They also sent her dirty diaper to a lab to be cultured to make sure it is nothing more serious since everyone else (meaning my ENTIRE side of the family: brother, mom, dad, nieces, nephew, SIL, wifey, etc) that contracted this from her was over it in less than 24 hours.
So far the soy has stayed put. The culture should be back someitme tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Now if only getting rid of the rash from the diaper explosion were that simple...if the prescription stuff does not clear it up I will be picking your brains in a day or so.
I think we are on cycle 4? My brain is haivng trouble counting thanks to my lack of sleep. Now that we are into cycle 4 Ann is starting to rethink her being the one carrying...um a little late this cycle love. Two weeks and we shall see although I guarantee if my metformin has not kicked my cyle back into gear by cycle 5 O time she will try again she wants another baby so bad right now...like maybe more than the first.
QOTD: It has to be baking in my papaw's kitchen. Usually it was chocolate chip cookies and i would hide under the table and steal them as fast as he could put them on the rack to cool.
This weekend is our 2nd march for babies. I can't believe that E is almost 2! We are walking with family and one of our primary nurses. It should be a fun day. Please cross your fingers for good weather. We had bad weather last year and it would be so nice to walk in some sunshine. E is at a really fun age right now but we are also seeing some really difficult behavior. Dinner time has lots of time outs for throwing food. We are loving the warm weather and love going out to blow bubbles, use sidewalk chalk and "paint" with water. I can't wait to get a water table and have to pool out.

Sorry she is sick what really helped E get over her stomach bug was major probiotics and a suplement called digestive gold. She also switched to soy for a few days. One of the doctors in our practice is an md and a holistic doc and he told be to use the jarro ultradpophillis with 40 billion cultures/capsule. I would give E 1/2 a capsule in her "milk" in the am and 1/2 in the pm allong with half a digestive gold. The probiotics are in the refig. suplement section in whole foods. It worked so well for us.

I may have to try it at this point I am almost desperate for her to stop with the vomit/poo cycle. I almost broke down in tears when she stopped mid-crawl last night and just did the exorcist all over my carpet after being "okay" (ie only water poo) all day. It just seems like everytime the end is in sight she begins vomiting again.
We are on to cycle #2! I couldn't talk much about cycle #1 because my Mom lurk's on this board sometimes and it was a secret! (Hi Mom!)
We are optimistic about #2; we were abut #1 too though, so this will probably be the trend. The little swimmers have been ordered and should arrive in a week or so. Then we will just be waiting for that smiley face. The excitement is building again!!
QOTD: This is a toss up between bread baking in the breakmaker and the smell of the outdoors at our family's favorite lake!

Closing in on the 2ww of cycle #2 and I really have no clue what the result is going to be. I've obviously had baby brain, but in terms of my body.. I've been trying to ignore anything going on (i.e not get wrapped up in "phantom symptoms")
I was hoping to wait to test until after AF was a no-show.. but with my 26th birthday and Mother's Day coming up, I'm going to test on 12dpo (crossing our fingers!)
QOTD: What is your favorite scent memory from childhood?
Grass. The first house I ever lived in, we had a nice front and back yard and I remember smelling the grass after it was cut. Makes me think of playing in the sunshine
