XP: Do babies naturally go through fussy phases?

DS has not really been an easy baby, but lately he is ultra fussy!  I know he gets gassy, but I don't think that is the whole issue.  We've done gas drops and gripe water, which help some.  He always wants held, but lately that doesn't even calm him.  I think he also fights sleep so he's very tired, adding to the crankiness.  Do babies go through phases where they are just extra fussy for no apparent reason?  I really hope it's something he will get out of!

  • DS is doing the same thing. The past few days, the only thing that seems to calm him down is eating, which makes me think he is going through a growth spurt. I hope it ends soon!

  • Not sure, but my DS did the same stuff. We switched him to soy formula, and honestly, the next day he was a different baby! Not sure if it was the formula or what, but we are so happy we switched. We thought, what the heck, it can't hurt to try. Hope the fussiness calms down for you! Good luck.

  • My dr said they do, especially with a growth spurt, which you might be dealing with too. Everyone says it gets better...

Another mom chiming in to say, we are going through the same thing.  He usually has a few days of being hungry and fussy.  Then a few days of sleeping all the time.  Then he goes up a diaper size :)  haha.  I just bought a HUGE sam's club box of 1-2  size diapers and he is about out of them.  His 0-3 mo onesies are getting tight too.
