we have a 12wk NT scan scheduled soon at the farmington UCONN health center to check for our risks for downs and other risks for our twins. Have any of you gone there for this? How was your experience? Did you find them to be pretty accurate? We weren't planning on doing amnio or cvs unless our risk is very high so that we can plan ahead for our babies. Would love to hear from you if you have been thru this there, TIA
Re: NT scan Uconn
I think this is a pretty standard screen nowadays. I had mine and I think my result was like 1 in 10,000. or somethings like that. Its still just a probability/chance thing. Some people opt out because even if you get a result of 1 in 100, your baby may still be 100% fine, and hearing the higher percentage can make your freak unnecessarily. I just did it since it wasnt really invasive or anything. Me & FI do not have any high risk background (family history, cultural or ethnic risks) and I am young (24) so I wasnt really expecting anything alarming. Not sure what I would have done if my results would have been different.
Also, its a great excuse to see your LO and get some more pics. The growth from the early/dating u/s were amazing!
