thank you balance bike!

So many of you might have seen the video on fb but I thought I would comment that if your thinking of getting LO a balance bike I HIGHLY recommend it!  When we got it for Cruz I thought ok its a great idea that when it comes time to ride a real bike that he will just be off and going but we got Cruz a real bike this weekend and within 3 minutes he was riding all by himself!  We held it steady for him to get on and take off and then starting and stopping was an issue the first day but by yesterday I just have to sit with the baby and he rides all by himself!  I always thought that teaching him to ride a bike was going to be a major ideal but it really took all the guess work out of it.  I also think the key thing was we got a 12" new bike so that he can get both feet flat on the ground.  He will probably he ready for a new bike next year but I think it was worth it to get something that he was comfortable with and didn't need to grow into. : )

    Awesome! We have 2 of the little motorcycle balance bikes that they are selling at costco right now to give the girls for their birthday tomorrow.

    Yah Cruz!  Can Cruz come teach Walter how to use his?  He loves it but doesn't lift his feet ever and really just "shuffles" so I can't imagine how long it's going to take him to actually learn !

    That is awesome, I saw the video, he is doing so well.

    We are actually getting M a real bike tonight or tomorrow. Where did you get his bike, i am not a big fan of TRU, but they have 25%off schwinn right now.

    I think I'm going to hit some thrift stores to fond a cheap 12 inch bike. Ben is a whiz on the balance bike but we got him a 16 inch bike and I think it's too tall for him to feel confident. I want him to not be scared after how much fun he has on the balance bike!! I shoul show him cruzs videos!!

    We got it at tru, its a lightening McQueen bike that was about $72? Jill yes you should see if you can't find a smaller one for Ben to learn on and then move up to his big one. Is there still a play it again sports around?

    I showed DH the video of Cruz and now he is hung ho for getting Rye a balance bike when the time comes. What age was Cruz when you got his?

    Audrey got a big girl bike for her 3rd birthday, with training wheels. She does great, but cannot ride without the training wheels and doesn't turn very well. Cruz does AWESOME! Hers is bigger too, I like the idea of a smaller bike and will remember that for Rye-guy.
