After all the who to thank/not to thank post on FB about Bin Laden's death started making their rounds, I posted that I thought it was sad that instead of standing together as Americans, people were pointing fingers and calling names. Two of my male friends then had a stupid go between making light of my comment.
"what does it mean to stand together? why can't we cuddle?"
"cause some mammals stink"
Stupid stuff, really. Well, at 3pm they were STILL going back and forth. It was driving me crazy. I responded, "Really, guys? Could you please take this conversation elsewhere?"
Now I get back on FB and one of the guys has defriended me. He is actually the one I would consider to be more friend and less acquaintance although both are in the social group we still spend time with about once a month. I'm hurt. I don't think I said anything mean or hurtful. I had considered simply deleting the thread w/o comment to them, but I thought asking them to drop it was better. I sent the defriender a phone text message. He has not responded. I know I will see him around, and I really am hurt. I take things personally, it's part of who I am. I would assume he would know this after over 10 years of friendship.
Did I overstep with my initial response to them? Is he being as big of an ass as I think he is? What if anything would you do?

I'd let it go and continue on with my life.
I've found that people that defriend others over something so trivial aren't really worth the drama.

What.........FB drama?! No way! Facebook is ALWAYS drama free!
I was joking around about Walmart with two friends (it had nothing personally to do with them) when all of a sudden they started talking poo about me on their FB accounts......ummmmm.....I can see that you idiots! Then all of a sudden I was defriended by one of the girls. I thought it was all immature and I didn't want people who would stoop that low on my account so I took the other girl off of mine and also took both of their businesses off of my account. That was about a month before I found out that I was pregnant. When I announced that I was pregnant, all of a sudden I got friends requests from both of them. My pregnancy has been on my account for 5 weeks now and one of them has tried requesting to be my friend twice and the other one, three times. I know why they are all of a sudden wanting to be on my page....they want to snoop. So I just keep denying them....one day they will get the hint that I don't care to talk to them after they trashed me when I wasn't even talking bad about them or other people that shop at Walmart. So dumb.
