To do in/around Detroit/Toledo?

We are meeting some friends in Detroit on Monday who are in town visiting family.

If we head up earlier in the weekend, what is there around fun to do with a 1-year old?

I went to grad school at U of M, so I am somewhat familiar with the area. However, it has been 5 years, so I don't know how much has changed.

There used to be a COSI museum in Toledo, but it looks like it is called the Imagination Station now.

There is the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Museum outside of Detroit in Dearborn. I know they have an IMAX theater, but I'm not sure if there is anything geared toward small children.

Ann Arbor is a nice town to visit. The downtown area has a lot of shops and restaurants (again, not sure if it would be good for small children). There are a lot of parks in the area too.
