Just curious... I live in south FL and it's pretty humid down here... I keep seeing them at the stores and wonder it's it's necessary for the baby's room.
I already used mine. LO is incredibly stuffy and the pedi said to run one. I got one of the Crane animal ones and I really like it. It's very quiet and doesn't need to be filler for at least 24 hours.
If your LO ends up being prone to stuffy noses/colds, they're a wonderful thing to have. We live in South Georgia, so we're pretty darn humid, too...but we still use a humidifier when DS is sick.
YES. It's not something you immediately need on hand for newborns, but at some point you will! Infants and toddlers can't take any cold medicine - the only thing that gets us through every winter is the humidifier and Pediacare Gentle Vapors plug in. We just have a cheap Vicks brand cool mist humidifier, nothing fancy.

I live in south florida too but we use it whenever she is sick!

Yes, pedi recommended one because LO is a little congested. I got a Crane penguin a long time ago but have since read that these actually do nothing to help with the air quality. (But it's really cute!!) I have a Vicks one now too, we use them both in different rooms for maximum humidifying!
