nipple change for cereal in bottle?

my 7 week old is experiencing reflux due to a possible milk allergy.

I was told to put some cereal in her breastmilk and bottlefeed.

does this mean i should change the nipple or is the slow nipple just fine???

I was just told yesterday that there is a different nipple for cereal. If you look at the different nipples, some will say cereal or rice on them.

Did your doctor really give you that advice? A 7 week old is waaaay too young for anything but breastmilk.

Ditto this. A 7 week old is much too young. I would try a soy-based formula, or a formula made especially for an allergic baby.

Did your pediatrician give you this advice?

FYI- peds to advise this... there is even a formula with rice added (Enfamil AR) for reflux.

We use the Playtex Drop-Ins. I bought the tri cut cereal nipples at BRU, and LO still can't get the cereal out of them. He is a good sucker, too. So, I just spoon feed him with a baby spoon... just make it on the thinner side. He does just fine that way.

My pedi told me to do the same thing for my 5 week old.

it really helped. There are special cereal nipples.
