It's very interesting to me how much my instincts and intuition have taken over.
When the Femara worked for us, and before I took the blood test to see if I was pregnant, I knew in my heart that I was pregnant. Something was "off" and I knew my body was changing. I was told to wait and see what the results were, but I knew what the result was, and it was positive.
When I was in my late stages of pregnancy, people would tell me "When your water breaks, you'll know it". And I thought "How the heck am I going to know the difference?" Sure enough, when my water broke, I KNEW what it was. I was sure beyond sure. Even though the nurse asked "Are you sure you didn't just sneeze really hard and pee a little?" when I called L&D, I knew my water broke.
In the past few days, I noticed small white patches on the tip of Scarlett's tongue. In my heart, I knew what it was. I did the "test" where you take a wet washcloth and rub it against her tongue to see if the white patches came off. If they did, it was milk residue. If not, it's more than likely thrush. I decided to give it a couple of days to see what happens. This morning, Scarlett's tongue is pretty much all white patches, and small white patches inside her upper and lower lip. DH tried to say "Maybe she's just been holding some milk in her mouth for a while and this is what happened". Nope, I knew it was thrush. I googled pictures and sure enough, a perfect match. We have antibiotics on order to pick up today.
When I knew deep down about the thrush, it really hit me how much maternal instinct and intuition plays a role now in my life as a mom. I never really understood how some women "know" about their own bodies, especially about being pregnant before the test result, or about what's going on with their children. But now, it's weird to me how in tune I am compared to how I was before.
Don't know why I'm saying this out loud, it's just a thought.

As much as I would love to be nursing, my supply didn't come in as it should have and after 3 weeks, completely dried up despite my pumping for up to 30 minutes every three hours. I was super bummed about it and a little embarassed to admit it on this board, but we are exclusively bottle feeding now. So luckily, it's just her and not me. It still sucks though and I can't wait for her to feel better.
