Does anyone NOT do anything for their daycare provider? We just started there less than a month ago so I don't know what the other parents do. I don't want to be the only one not doing anything, but I also I really busy right now and don't have the time or energy right now to devote to this (please, no flames)

Re: s/o teacher appreciation...
"I really busy right now". Ugh. "I'M really busy"
I'm not flaming at all and I'm sure that there are tons of people who do nothing for teacher appreciation week.
But I will say that things like this really mean a lot to teachers/daycare providers. Seeing as how they take care or your children all day, IMO, they are worth some extra effort. And you don't have to compose a sonnet for them ;-) You could do something as easy as picking up a Starbucks gift card for her/him and jotting down a quick thank you note. Don't worry about what the other parents do, I'm sure that your daycare would be touched that you thought of them.
I don't really consider our in-home DCP a teacher. They have free play time and read the kids books but no lessons. SAHMs are "teachers" as much as they are. I would think differently if it were a more structured learning environment like preschool.

I agree, I do show appreciation throughout the year as things occur to me (produce from our garden, flowers from the garden, if I see something I know she's like at the store, etc.).
I am super busy and don't "love" my ds dcp BUT as a former dcp I know while parents pay alot they do not GET alot....that being said I am still going to the $1 store picking up a little plate or something and puting cookies or sweets on it...Safeway has balloons~ one is a cup of coffee that says thanks a latte..get a gc in the gc section and be done...simple but means alot!
