I love it- it looks great. I think the new grandmas are just used to traditional baby rooms! My MIL keeps saying about SILs nursery that it's "interesting for a baby's room". It's non-traditional, yes, but it suits SILs style and is really cute.
My favorite item in the room is the glider. I started to reupholster ours, but decided against it in the end. I ran out of energy. I'm a bit jealous of yours now though.
Oh my gosh, I love it! I LOVE the color-scheme! I'm slightly jealous, haha...my nursery is NOT turning out the way I wanted it to at this point. Hopefully I can get my act together and get my creative juices flowing! Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on a beautiful nursery!
Why did she think it's weird? I love it! Love the owls!
She thinks it's weird because it has "grown up" stuff in it, like the curtains and pillows and doesn't think it looks babyish. She likes the room, just doesn't think it looks like a nursery. The baby doesn't care what it looks like, I'm the one that has to sit in there. Plus the only furniture we bought for the room was the crib, so I was working with what I already had or what was given to me.
I think that she's just reacting to the fact that your nursery is actually unique and creative, and not "out of a BRU box" and totally cliche. I say, rock on.

I like it a lot! Changing table/area + crib make it look enough like a nursery to me, and you're right, baby won't care at all. If the grown-ups like it, that probably matters more at this point!

Love, marriage and a baby carriage
I dont think thats weird.
We used to have a futon in DS's room too! It moved to the living room because we had to make room for both a crib and a toddler bed.
Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
I love it! I love that it's different colors too!

Great job!!!
My nursery was gender neutral..Just because I knew I'd reuse items for the next baby.
I think it's really cute!

LOVE the colors! And I dont see one weird thing in there???
Weird would be mounting deer heads or showcasing swords on the wall haha
nurseries should have white frilly bedding, rubber duckie borders around the walls, and other 80s style things.
Your room looks great!
I love it!!!! Re: the pink, we don't have any pink in DD's room either, but it's still feminine and adorable
LOVE the colors you used! And the animals you made are adorable - you're very talented!
Been away from theBump for a while, getting active again for all the good advice
