Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What is wrong with people?!?!?

OMG! My husband had one of his classmates (he's doing training for work) come over to meet our LO.  He has only known her for 2 weeks and I was just meeting her for the 1st time.  Not only did she rip LO out of my arms (not asking if she could hold her, but instead said "My turn to hold the baby" while simultaneously taking her from me), but when LO was starting to get fussy in her arms she proceeded to stick her finger in DD mouth!  UGH!!! I was so irritated.  Not sure what people think gives them the right to stick their dirty fingers in a baby's mouth!  Then she started patting LO rather hard on the stomach to try to calm her down.  Then later commented "I think she has a bellyache!" No crap!!! You have been pounding on her stomach for the last 5 min!  I was so annoyed!  I finally had to just take LO back form her before I went off on her!

Re: What is wrong with people?!?!?

  • What is it with people sticking their finger in LOs' mouths? I don't even do that with my own kid unless I've JUST washed my hands, I would NEVER do it to someone else's kid.

  • No way I would have sit there and let her stick her finger in my kid's mouth or pound his tummy.  It's your right and responsibility as your child's mother to make sure your baby doesn't get manhandled like that!

I can deal with stupid people comments, advice, etc. but anyone touches my child in a way I'm uncomfortable with and I have no problem speaking up about it!

  • Oh i would of went off on her, First you dont even know this person, let alone let them grab your baby and put her fingers in her mouth. I'm sure you were trying to be nice because of your husband, but forget that, if you ever see this lady again, dont let her hold that baby! lol

  • WTF?  I would've ripped my DH a new one for bringing some strange female to my home to meet our baby.  I then would've taken my baby right back the second she took my LO from my arms.  I probably would've gone off on that chick just for general purposes anyways!Angry

  • LOL! I just posted a vent just like this today, except it was both in-laws simultaneously touching her lips and sticking their NASTY fingers in her mouth. It is so incredibly rude and stupid to do that to a baby with a brand-new immune system. Yeah... don't even get me started. It makes me want to wipe my @ss and stick my hand in THEIR mouth.
  • I definitely talked to my husband after she left and made it perfectly clear to him that I was not comfortable at all with how she handled LO and I would not let her hold DD ever again!
