Are you still pumping at least 3 times a day?
I am pumping about 9-11 oz. (used to pump nearly 15 before solids). Just wondering if that is the average here.
His eating is all over the board at daycare. Yesterday he ate only 5 oz, which I don't think is enough, but last week he had a day where he ate 16 oz! I have a small freezer stash and had planned to decrease pumping sessions starting at 1 year, but I suppose I want to hear from other moms that I can cut one sooner.
Re: XP: Working moms of 9 month olds (breastfeeding)
I went to 2 times a day when DD was about 3-4 months old b/c I was getting so much. It went well, and I actually produced the same amount until about 8-9 months. Norm was usually 10-15 oz a day. I'm at less than 3-4 oz a day now. DD takes two 5oz bottles a day at daycare, so thank goodness for a big freezer stash.
Honestly, unless you have enough of a stash to make it until 1 year, I'd continue doing what you're doing b/c you may be like me and continue to decrease your output. But, I will say, I can tell it's DD's "fault" she nurses less and less these days. 10 min a side used to be her norm and now she's around 2-3 min a side, 2-3 times a day. And I don't feed her a ton of table food.
I pump: 4:30am, 7:30am, 11:15ish, 2pm, 7:30pm.
I cut out my 5:30 pump about a month ago.
I am pumping total about 26-30ish oz a day. I am SOOOOO done pumping and cannot wait until July. At this point I am not cutting out any sessions. At 11months I will slowly introduce whole milk so I will cut out my 7:30 pump session.

DS is now 10 month olds and I am pumping twice a day. I was pumping 3 times a day until he was about 9 months old. I just didn't have the time to pump 3 times a day anymore. I'm currently only getting around 6-8 oz a day so we are supplementing with formula. DS eats solids twice per day at daycare and takes 3-4 bottles at 5 oz each.
I was also pumping around 15 oz when I pumped 3 times per day, but between DS starting solids and no longer sleeping in our bed my supply started to go down a bit.
My daughter nurses first thing in the am, around 7. Eats one stage 2 at 9:30, then bottle 7 oz at 11, bottle 7 oz at 2, another stage 2 around 330, bottle 7 oz at 515. Dinner is at 615/630 stage 2 with 2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal. She just gave up one night nursing last week, so I upped her bottles from 6 oz to 7 each to make up the ounces.
Per her pedi she should be getting 26-30 ounces of bm/formula mixed a day.
I pump twice at work, once at noon and once at 445, get a total of 10 ounces. I mix the BM with formula, so at this point she is getting more formula than BM but that is okay with me. My supply dropped a bit when she gave up the night feed. HTH's!
Mine will be 10 months on the 13th and I pump 4 times a day. My supply went from 15-20/day to 11-15. His eating is all over the board now as well. Some days 10, other days 17. It's a crap shoot.
My Dr. said I could supplement with formula or whole milk if I want, but he doesn't seem to need it so I haven't.
I'm going to start knocking off pumping down at a year and probably let him wean himself at home. We'll see.
At about 6 months I went to 3 pumping at work from 4 and I got about the same. I was also pumping at 3am. At about 9 months I changed that to pumping one side at 7am when LO was eating from the other. That did change my supply alittle, but we have plenty in the freezer. I needed that sleep.
Just this weekend/week, one of my nipple cracked and this morning it bleed into the milk while pumping. So now I have to figure out how to let it heal, but not lose my supply from that breast. I think I will let it rest from the pump today and see if it is ok for LO to nurse on tonight. I am using lanolin and letting it air while pumping the other side.
Sounds like what we're going through. DD will sometimes drink a lot at daycare, and sometimes she'll practically refuse all bottles. Today she drank 11oz.
I pump when I can, which is usually twice a day. Sometimes I'll be able to sneak in a 3rd time. I don't pump enough for what she needs each day, so I'm grabbing milk out of my freezer. If she keeps drinking less with solids, then I should be fine until she gets to 1 year. I'll probably keep pumping twice until she gets to 1 year and then re-evaluate.
