Babies: 9 - 12 Months

what does your 10 mo old eat

ds isn't interested in picking up food other than puffs. I know I need to just put it out but he seems to really want me to spoon feed him!! The soft stuff I want to give him like bananas, soft pear, pasta, string cheese he has trouble picking up. Like it's to slimy for him

Re: what does your 10 mo old eat

  • My DS does not have a lot of teeth so he still eats mostly the level 2 purees that we spoon feed him.  However, we did start on some soft food like grilled cheese sandwich and small pieces of toast with something smeared on it.  That seems to go over pretty well until he transions with more teeth.

  • dd just got better with practice.  I have good luck with the wagon wheel pasta, she can get her fingers in the holes so it is easier for her to pick up.  Other than that, pretty much what you mentioned: string cheese, pears, sliced bananas, bites of chicken or beef,

  • I dust slimy stuff like bananas and peaches with baby cereal to make it easier for dd to pick up.

  • My DS is the opposite and wants to feed himself all the time. Usually grabbing the spoon out of my hands. He eats purees, toast, eggs, turkey loaf, sweet potato fries, pasta, cut up friut & veggies, Cheerios, & shredded chicken. I also dust the slimier items with ground up Cheerios and it works well.

  • Waffles, cut up fruit (blue berries and strawberries) sweet potato fries, pastas, rice, veggies (peas, green beans broccoli you name it), cereals...
  • LO is 9 months and a little piggy. She eats EVERYTHING I let her. Some ideas for you if he doesn't like slime to start him transitioning to feeding himself

apple slices (with or without yogurt dip)

    zucchinni or carrot sticks

    toast

green beans (fresh steamed isn't slimy like canned)

     veggie chips

    etc.

hope this gives you a jumping off point!
