DS will be 16 months old when DD arrives. I have a Medela hand pump from when DS was still breastfeeding, but I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to get an electric one now. I breastfed DS, but pumped so I could still go to work 4 hours a week and have a break every now and then. I had a hard time keeping up with him because I wasn't as consistent as I wanted to be, and it took a while to get anything with the hand pump.
Am I right to think an electric pump will save some time and be more efficient? I just feel like I'll either be nursing or pumping all the time with the hand one in order to get enough, and I don't want DS to have to have even less Mommy time.
Does this sound like a good plan, or would I be just as successful with a hand pump? TIA!
Re: Breast Pump Question
Do yourself the favor and get an electric pump, I can't even imagine having been able to BF my son as long as I did without it. I am a working mom so it was essential but even if you are home most of the time you will find it far more efficient than hand pumping.
I love my Medela Freestyle but the Pump in Style is less expensive and works great too.
Thanks!
