So, these red straps you are supposed to snap on and off before you collapse the stroller--do you do this?
I don't want to be a negligent parent, but I sort of just want to leave them unsnapped. It doesn't seem like the stroller is going to collapse on the kid if they are not snapped.
What do you do?

This. Right now we are using the attachment bar for our carseat and we don't snap them.
This is me. The instruction booklet made it seem like using them was majorly important.
Ours are silver? Red must be new. I never used them with my first. Just keep any eye out if they want to climb into the stroller themselves. My daughter used that strap to try to pull herself into the stroller once and it did start to fold. But it folds the wrong way so it's not like she would have gotten her head stuck in a folded stroller... just took a tumble on the grass.
They are on all the models I've seen (2008-2011). Basically they are there to ensure it can't be folded with a child in it, but essentially the stroller can't be folded with a child in it anyhow (since you have to pull the strap under their butt to do so). I don't snap/unsnap mine.
This!
