If you're hanging your comforter on the wall

If you bought a bedding set that came with a comforter and you plan to hang it on the wall as decoration, how are you doing it?  Did you buy quilt clips or make something?  I was thinking of just sewing two or three small ribbon loops at the top, on the back, and hanging them on nails, but I wasn't sure if it would look wierd just hanging there.  So, tell me what you did/ are doing.  TIA!

Re: If you're hanging your comforter on the wall

  • I got one with our bedding set but do not plan on putting it on the wall.  We have so much going on, on the walls as it is we don't need more.  I think even if we had bare walls I wouldn't hang it as I would most likely use it for LO to play on the ground or something of that sort.

Perhaps sewing some ribbons on the corners where you could see them would look really cute and then hang it from those!

  • I purchased little plastic rings from JoAnn's and stitched them on the back of the quilt. something that will be easy to take off at a later date. I found really cute Safari animal hangers that I used on the wall....

I went to an antique shop and bought a vintage towel hanger that looks just like a quilt rack. It's simple and gorgeous. I love the way it looks on the wall with the quilt.

DH is framing it to the wall with crown molding so it looks like a picture in a frame.  He hates the hanging quilt look.  I would show you pics but that is this weekends project.

This is what I was thinking with the ribbon loops.  Same idea, different material.  :)

The frame idea sounds pretty cool too.  Thanks for the input ladies.

  • We chose to go with 6 large safety pins (placed along the top seam) and the removable clips that stick on the wall. I think they're made by 3M. That way we can take them off easily if we come up with a better idea.
