When did it become cool

in Babies on the Brain

to use your first and middle name on FB?  I have noticed quite a few friends changing their names on FB to their first and middle instead of first and last name.

Did I miss something?

    It's so they can't get searched for by employers.

    This. So that you can post/ be tagged in pictures getting drunk, high, or horny and you're employer 'can't' find you.

    I had noticed that too. If your page is private, doesn't it not matter? I mean, they can search you, but can't see anything anyway.

    My Pseudo-SIL did this. She changed her name to her childhood nickname and her mothers maiden name. There was never anything bad at all on her page, she's a goofball if anything. When she graduated, her teachers strongly encouraged this. She now has her personal page with her "fake" name, and then a professional page with her actual name on it and links to her professional achievements, her art, etc.

    My FB name is my cats name for this very reason...
