When did you start using a pillow and quilt/comforter in your DC's big boy/girl bed? We're going to be transitioning Lucas into a big boy bed this summer to leave the crib for the baby and I was wondering if I'll put a pillow in there with him and a comforter (as in full on making the bed). He's all over the place in his crib now so I usually just cover him with a blanket when I check on him but it's not tucked in or anything. He'll have a bed rail set up as well.
What did you do?
Re: Pillow and comforter in a big boy bed?
we already had a pillow and crib size duvet in with little dude before he moved to the toddler bed. he just pushed it off it he was hot.
he had 4 pillows and a duvet in his bigbig boy bed (he moved up from the toddler to the converted full size bed when we moved).
he still wriggles around, but still pushes off the blanket if he's too hot.
DD is in a toddler bed. We have a PBK quilt that goes over her bed but no sheets other than the fitted crib sheet. She usually kicks off the quilt and just sleeps with her favorite blankey, but I do try to make the bed with the quilt in the morning. She stole a pillow from our bed and sleeps with it 90% of the time. (pretty sure she'd steal all of our pillows if we let her).
Andrew also had a pillow and blanket long before he was in a BBB (which was 18 months, darn monkey). With Cooper he has his favorite blanket but only recently has been happy with having a pillow. He's in a crib still but the only reason he doesn't have more in there is because he doesn't like it./
In Andrew's big bed he has multiple pillows and blankets.
DS has sheets, pillows and a blanket in his bed. I don't tuck in the sides of the sheets/blanket because he is all over the place still.
ETA: DS was in a twin size mattress on the floor at 18 mos. then at 2 in a twin bed (bunk beds.)
