F/U on DD#1 dropping last nap

Well, day 2 of no nap and DD#1 is doing great.  2nd night now that we've put her to bed at 8 p.m. and she was asleep within 5-10 min.  No calling out over and over for an hour and a half!  And she did great with having an hour of quiet time today.  I thought she would throw a fit and not want to hang out in her room.  But she actually was excited for it.  She grabbed a bunch of books and her princesses and pretty much sat on her bed reading or pretending with her dolls for an hour.  And she was in a super good mood up until about 30-45 min before she went to bed when you could tell she was getting pretty tired.

I'm so relieved that we've made this transition with her.  I think it's going to be great for both of us!

  • That's great!  Glad it's going well.  Liam is still a complete mess if he misses his nap, so hopefully he will hold onto it for a while longer! :)

  • I really think we need to bite the bullet and do the same thing.  Camryn doesn't go to bed until 10 pm and it's driving me nuts.  I have no time at night to do anything without kiddos around.  Only reason we've been hanging on to it is for the sake of my mom, who keeps her four days of week.  She really wants the break.  Camryn has gotten to where she really doesn't nap for me on the weekends and life would probably just be easier in general if we'd do away with the nap and put her to bed at the same time as Caylee.  Sigh...

  • Maddie is the same way most of the time. Yesterday she slept until 8:15, so then she never fell asleep for her nap. But she was completely asleep by 8:30, which never happens- she's usually in there talking and singing forever! I think some days she really does still need a nap, so I'm going to continue to put her in her bed every day at 2....but I'm just not going to stress about it if she's just in there playing instead of sleeping.
