Sooo...I called my clinic to make sure the orders for the follow up blood test to go with the NT were called into the lab before I just showed up for a blood draw. Just got a call back from my OB. She basically has no frickin clue what she's doing for this test, said it was the first time she's done it (apparently they do a combo of blood tests & measurements from the 20w scan to get similar results). I'm a month out from when I had the scan done, and they've yet to tell me my odds. Annoying. Hopefully I'll find out next week at my doppler appt. I had to explain to her, again, how I was told I could get the NT done and by whom. I had to explain to her, again, why I was so interested in getting the test (maternal age & a cousin who died from a complication with Trisomy 21). Highlight of the conversation was being asked, "Now who is providing your prenatal care?" Uh, you are...in fact I see you a week from today for my next appt.
At this point I'm not expecting they'll ever tell me the odds of anything. I'm trying to focus on the pluses, the major ones being that we got an extra look at the baby and that the NT measurement was good.
Ugh. Definitely one of those moments where I (sarcastically) PPH government healthcare.

Re: ::Bangs head on desk::
Like I said before, I'm trying to focus on the good things that I know from the actual u/s. Not counting on anything I'm told regarding this testing, which is frustrating.
