This just cracks me up. My name is Jessica. I get called the wrong name all the time. But, our mail man at work has always called me by the right name, every day, for about 4 months. Last week all of a sudden he decided to start calling me Jennifer. He called me Jennifer all week, I didn't bother to correct him cuz I get it all the time. Then today he's back to using my real name!!

Do you ever get called by the wrong name?

There is a girl I work with called Emily. She recently moved to a different job function, but before we worked in the same office. We're both built similarly and have dark blonde hair and fair skin, but other than that the similarities pretty much end. I get called Emily ALL THE TIME, and she gets called Alison. We can't figure it out. She has curly hair and I have straight and I joked that one day I'd curl my hair, she could straighten it, and I'd sit and her desk and she would sit at mine and we'd really blow everyone's minds.

Not so much my name, but I am addressed as "Mr" a lot via correspondence. I'm a female VP in a male dominated industry. I've had applicants for jobs I'm hiring for send me resumes and cover letters addressed to Mr. Janimal and it's just NOT smart to assume I'm a dude.

I'm Sara but for some reason people like to call me Sue. Which is really weird cuz that's my moms name but most people who've called me Sue have never met my mother or know her name.

My full name is Kathleen and I go by Katie. Whenever I'm at a doctor's office or the like they'll call my name and then say "hi Kathy." I can't stand it! I also can't stand when non-family members shorten my name to Kate. I've never been called something completely random/unrelated though (that I can recall).

Haha, no! Papps is just a nickname I got in highschool. I'm not willing to reveal my name to the masses on here, but it's not even close to your average everyday name. I actually hated it growning up, but love it now. It's just funny to watch people try and repeat it if they don't know me well

I figured as much, was just being silly. I'm so over this Monday....ready to go home!

This! Also, I work in a pharmacy and when I say my name on the phone, people are constantly thinking I said Judy. I don't know why, they don't sound THAT much alike, do they?

This!!! My mom and older sister seem to be the only people that can tell my twin sister and I apart on the phone. My dad calls me by my sister's name all the time. And when we're with extended family, I always get called by my sister's name.

Oh and my name is Christina, but people always call me Christine. It drives me crazy!!! It's like people are too lazy to add the A at the end, ugh.

My husband's name is Morgan and we will get sales calls asking for Morgan and they always think he should be a girl. He went to the grocery store once and the lady said he "couldn't use his check card" and my DH asked "why" and she said "because that is not your card". My husbands said "what do you mean" and the lady said "Morgan is a girl name so that can't be you", and she called her manager, my husband had to get his ID out for them and prove it. Morgan originally was a boy name.

I have a female "first name as a last name" so I get called that all the time. Let's just say it's Kelly.

It only annoys me when people reply to my emails with "Hi Kelly" when my email signature clearly says Colleen Kelly and I signed the email "Sincerely, Colleen." I always want to reply "Hi Lastname" to them too.

For some reason it doesn't bother me when people do it in person, maybe because if it is listed "Kelly, Colleen" at the dr office I can see how that is confusing, but on my email I clearly didn't sign it "Kelly, Colleen."

My name is Alex, short for Alexandra. I get addressed as Mr. Alex Lastname all the time, I get called Alice a lot, and when giving people my full name (Alexandra), for some reason people always write down Alexander. I mean.. I'm pretty darn girly looking. People are just silly.

YES! And it's ALWAYS Jennifer. I must look like a Jennifer to everyone. My name is Stephanie - no where near Jennifer, so I'm not sure where it comes from, but if someone is going to call me the wrong name, I can guarantee it will be Jennifer.

I have no idea why but people call me April all the time. My first name is Rachel.

Don't ask me why but it has happened to me since I was in the 1st grade. Maybe I just look like an April!

Oh lord my name is Kristen and I get Christine, Krista, Crystal... but on a random note... I get called Sarah a lot??? I work with MS patients and there is no Sarah that works here.... but they all call me Sarah for some reason!
