Diarrhea w/Amoxicillin

DD started Amox on sat morning (ear infection) just had a huge blowout at sitter's.. has anyone else experienced this.. And how long the whole antibiotic time, won't be good we have 7 more days?

Yes, DS experienced this when he had an ear infection last week. He had diarrhea the whole time, and it didn't stop until 3 days after we stopped the antibiotics.?

antibiotics can definitley cause diarrhea. DS experienced this w/ amoxicillian too. You can try giving her more cereal and binding foods like that. You may just have to ride it out! Poor baby!!!

Thanks girls i feel so bad just when they start to get better, her appetite has increased and no more fever.. Now we have diarrhea!! yuck!!!

can you give her yogurt yet? it helps with the antibiotic diarhhea. fun, fun. hope she feels better soon. i'm dealing with yet another EI for one of my boys. blech.

My pedi suggested getting cultrunelle(sp?) pills from the pharmacy, breaking open a pill, and sprinking it over DS's food. Luckily, we haven't had blowout issues, but you might want to talk to a pharmacist and give it a try.

Whenever I've had issues from antibiotics my dr has recommended to eat more yogurt. ?Something about balancing out the good bacteria & the bad. ?

If you're little one is eating yogurt already it may be worth a shot. ?
