Doctor's Appt.

We went to the doctor's on Friday to discuss my m/s and have my cervix checked and possibly a dating ultrasound.  Well, we learned that we are right on track (between 8-9 weeks) and so the dating ultrasound wasn't necessary.  I was kind bummed about that but since we have an ultrasound in 3 weeks I wasn't that upset.  But, the doctor did want to see if she could hear the heartbeat - it was too early (of course) but it was fun to have her try.

I also got great advice about m/s.  Flinestone vitamins instead of prenatals (I get sick everytime I try to take the prenatals) and instead of eating "meals" to pick one thing and eat it all day long - one piece every 30 minutes and to drink clear gatorade or vitamin water.  Just thought I would pass that along.

Our next appointment is in 2 weeks to hear the heartbeat!  I can't wait :)

I had a friend take the flinestones vitamins because the prenatals made her too sick.  I've always taken mine right before bed so I can sleep through the side effects.

  • I told my dr. that my pre-natals were the only thing making me feel nauseous. He said most likely it was the B vitamins, they can have a tendency to do that. Through the rest of the 1st tri (as long as m/s is around) I am just taking a folic acid supplement (which includes calcium and vit D - which you are supposed to take together anyway) since he said I can get the others through diet for the most part. Once I reach 2nd tri and am feeling less nauseous I can go back to the multi-vitamins (fingers crossed!)
