Yes. Our grocery store has an organic line of food, and they make a drinkable yogurt that is low in fat, but doesn't use artificial sweeteners. Benjamin loves them.
Yes, Kate gets smoothies on occasion, usually when I am making one for myself. I use yogurt, frozen fruit (strawberries, mangos, peaches, mixed berries, whatever I have), flax seed and banana. She's not crazy about them, but she eats them.
We make homemade smoothies at home. We all love them. I usually do strawberry/banana just because I always have bananas and vanilla yogure so I just need strawberries.
In a blender put about a cup of crushed ice, a handful of stawberries (or whatever fruit), a banana, about a cup of vanilla yogurt, and a splash of pure vanilla extract. Blend and add a little milk to make it a drinkable consistency. I give it to her in a straw cup.
Minnas--if you are looking for an EASY way to do it, use frozen fruit. Then you don't have to use ice. I just buy frozen organic strawberries/mangos/peaches etc, add to the blender with yogurt, some orange juice or milk, flax seed, and a banana and it is done in 20 seconds. So easy!
Yeah, they're one of ds's favorite things for breakfast. I make them at home: plain whole milk yogurt, a banana, frozen fruit and just enough OJ or milk to thin it out to make it sippable. Oh, and a squirt or two of agave nectar for sweetness if needed. In the past I've also used it as a way to hide flax seed oil and fish oils. Frozen fruit eliminates the need for ice.
They're great for on the go- I can't deal with yogurt and fruit in the car, but a smoothie in a cup with a lid/straw is fantastic!
I use whatever I have in the freezer or fresh (banana, blueberry, strawberry, melon, watermelon, etc.) and add it to yogurt and that goes in the blender.
When it's strawberry or blueberry season, I buy them cheaper and freeze to use for smoothies later.
My 1 1/2 year old LOVES them. If we have yogurt in the fridge he pulls it out and points to the blender. I just use half yogurt and half frozen fruit. I put it in a sippy cup with no valve to control the mess. Though they get clogged often so I have to change the tops or clean them out as he drinks it.
Re: do you give your DC yogurt smoothies or
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
No. I don't drink them, so he's never had them.
I just give him yogurt and whole fruit. Less hassle.

Mitch LOVES them...I gave them to him when he was having bad diaper rashes...thinking maybe it was yeast infection...
My girls hate them...they just like regular yogurt instead.
Yep, she's had all kinds of smoothies and loves them all - even virgin banana daquiries!
I make them a lot for me, so yes, she drinks them.
Its a very portable breakfast drink for me. Milk, plain yogurt, frozen bananas, oatmeal, cinnamon - almost like banana bread.
Here's what I do...
