Nursery pretty much done!

It turned out completely different than what I had originally planned. I initally wanted something very neutral - got the paint color a bit wrong - wanted gray and it looked baby blue so it took on a life of its own from there. We decided to scrap the initial plan rather than re-paint and we used the colors in the rug and took it from there. It probably came out way more fun for him than what I wanted to do so it's all good. H did a great job with the painting, I painted the alphabet letters the same colors as the stripes and striped a few. I bought an extra sheet and made the lamp shade. We're waiting on a bookshelf to come in for extra storage and then it will finally complete!

  • Wow, this looks amazing!  Right out of a magazine!  You guys did a fantastic job.  I love the rug, how did you find that to match?  And the sheet on the lamp shade idea is genius.  Great work!
  • Grey is like, the most difficult colour to match, huh?

That being said, it looks amazing!  Cute, fun and I'm sure you're going to enjoy it for days to come!  :)

LOL on the gray - where I went wrong was not testing it on the wall like I normally do as H was in a hurry to get started. I used Beacon Gray by BM which was really  baby blue with a tad bit of gray in it. I absolutely didn't want a stereotypical baby blue boy nursery and he didn't want to repaint. So we went a different direction all together to make the baby blue work.

For pp - I bought the rug at pottery barn kids first since it had a lot of nice colors in it and I thought it would go well with gray walls. Since the walls turned out to be baby blue, we decided to using the colors in the rug to do the accent wall and bring in other colors to "baby-down" the blue walls. Thanks for the compliments ladies.
