Seriously, WTF Neighbors.....

I really hate the fact that my neighbors have 4 dogs that they never walk, don't have a fenced in yard for them to run in, whatever. They tie them out for about an hour at night (just let them out, it's 10:20) and they proceed to wake up my sleeping toddler. I'm gonna be reallllly pissy if they are waking a newborn as well in a few months. Ugh. They know we have a little one, how about a little respect, or maybe take your dogs out, let them pee, and then bring them back in? GRRRRRR

  • I'm gonna have a huge issue with this when we have this baby. During the day you wouldn't even know any of my neighbors HAD dogs, but as soon as the sun sets 6 different dogs from all around our house bark the entire night. It pisses the hell out of me.

  • Wow.

Why are people so disrespectful of their neighbors? I would be upset, too!

There is a teenage boy that lives next door that enjoys rumming his Mustang engine late at night. You will also hear music blasting as he sits in the car (again...late at night) while texting on his cell and waiting for his buddies. So annoying!

I've got the mustang problem too. Except its a group of about 5 military guys that each have one and like to revv them TOGETHER, and then invite all their friends that have them over to join in!

I pretty much hate my neighborhood.

    Are you serious? OMG.....
It's not like they are teens. You are talking about grown men doing this?! Uncalled for.

  • I totally understand.. my neighbor has a habit of reeving his motorcycle all hours of the night, riding through peoples lawns, and having his 100+lb doberman chase him around the neighborhood while acting like night rider.. Needless to say I already told DH that I am going to one ticked off momma when (not if) he wakes up the baby every night..

  • My next door neighbor has very loud trucks and cars. He's always out there at the crack of dawn reving them up for no good reason. Our bedroom window is right by his vehicles. Now his teenage daughter's friend has been parking right next to our nursery window with her loud muffler. They sit in the car and let it run, singing and listening to loud music. I'm gonna have a word with her if they don't quit the crap before the baby comes, because after she comes and they wake her up, it's gonna get ugly.

A call to their commanding officer would probably stop that.

I would have no idea how to go about that. I'm like a polar bear living in Africa, I have no military affiliation whatsoever. Most people that live here didn't even know people lived in this town that weren't at least related to someone in the military.

I can tell you calling command wont guarantee a change in behavior.  It'll depend on the soldier's rank and the commands attitude.  I would suggest just telling them to knock it off.

If you really want to get in touch with their command w/o knowing any of their information I suggest calling MPs(usually have a non emergency number) and relaying tag numbers.

It might just come to this point. We don't have a HOA, but there is a sound ordinance here, and most of my neighbors are older and retired. I don't think they'd put up with someone revving engines or being loud but the dogs don't seem to bother them, which is why I guess no one has called.  I hate to be a biotch because they are nice people, but I think they just have no common sense....and they will probably definitely know we were the ones who called. I feel like I should say something but I'm a wimp about this kind of thing......Even if they could maybe put them out earlier, or if not, walk out into the yard with them so they won't go crazy barking right outside DDs room.....

It used to be really bad but then it got a lot better, but now I hear them barking at night again, I wonder if it's because it's nice and they feel like they can tie them out at night now?

I'm sure once I get a little more pregnant the hormones will take away my inhibitions, LOL.

  • All of my neighbors are noisy entrepreneurs. I have 2 mechanics (drills, banging metal), a professional gardener (It's been 4 hours. Put the weedwhacker down or I'll kill you.), and 2 handy men (saws and hammers at all hours). Then my next door neighbors are constantly having huge, elaborate gatherings. I'm talking 40+ people on the lawn, bounce houses, and blasting music. I would not mind this if A. They turned it down after 10pm, but it often lasts until 2am. B. If it didn't happen twice a month. Seriously can someone else host? Also, STOP PARKING ON MY EFFING DRIVEWAY/LAWN/SIDEWALK. THANKS.

  • I loved this post so I finally don't feel alone.  Hubby and I had invested in a lifetime supply of benadryl and ear plugs.  Conversely, we've always gone with the mindset that our daughter be around lots of noise in our house so that she would always sleep through whatever fun we have after bedtime; which worked and we intend to continue with Bode when he is born.  However.....Hubby and I love to sleep so we will continue with the benadryl, ear plug and last resort sheriff call.

Honestly, I'm not very comfortable with my neighborhood to complain to anyone personally. DH and I keep a really low profile so, as Jim Carrey says in Liar Liar, "So l'm gonna piss and moan like an impotent jerk... and then bend over and take it up the tailpipe!" lol. Hopefully we just won't live here much longer.
