1. where and how:

2. highlight/lowlight of your week:

3.  Weekend plans:

4. tell us a story from your week!

Re: friday check in

  • 1. 20 weeks 6 days pregnant

    2. highlight - crossing off another week.  lowlight - my kids were STINKERS yesterday!  and our field trip got canceled this week due to the rain.

    3.  sewing a bday gift tonight, hanging with audrey tomorrow while DH has track meet, and sunday we're traveling to a baby shower.

    4.  it's been a trying week for me.  and on tuesday i had the following conversation with a kiddo:

student: "can i use the bathroom?"
me: "no, because you just went."
student: "yea, but i forgot to wipe my butt."

    only in kindergarten!

  • 1. 9+ weeks post-partum. Doing well!

    2. Highlight: Connor slept for 8 hours straight one night this week! Too bad he started at 8:00pm, but I still got way more sleep than usual. Chris and I got out to a concert that night too (Arcade Fire) so it was the best night we'd had in a while. I'm hoping Connor will repeat his sleeping perfomance again soon and often!

Lowlight: I was on call overnight at the hospital on Tuesday and it was just really hard to be away from the kids. Sad :(

    3. Tomorrow we are going to check out Monkey Joe's with some friends and then go to dinner at Brothers in Broad Ripple. If the weather is nice this weekend I need to get flowers in the ground.

    4. My mom and dad kept Jocelyn last night so my mom could wake her up to watch the royal wedding. I was Jocelyn's age when Charles and Diana got married and my mom did the same with me, so she wanted to continue the tradition. This afternoon they are even going to a tea at my mom's office to celebrate the wedding. People are crazy about this thing!

  • Holy slow check-in, Batman!  Me included - sorry!

    1. 18 weeks 3 days pregnant, feeling great and so pumped that it's Friday night!

    2. Highlight: Hiking up Lookout Mountain with DH and puppy tonight after work, and a couple of good days at work this week.  Lowlight: A particularly frustrating afternoon at work where several of us spent several hours correcting/discussing/re-correcting a one-page memo that was pretty unnecessary.  That kind of thing drives me CRAZY.  Put a comma there and send the d@mn memo already.  I also don't appreciate being treated like an idiot because I don't have a comma where there SHOULDN'T be a comma...so maybe you should check your own grammar skills right now.  Check yo'self.

    3. Headed out to dinner soon, doing something downtown and inside tomorrow because it's going to be 40 here tomorrow (jealous?), and packing for my business trip to DC.  I'm going to the airport early Sunday afternoon which will really shorten the weekend, but the only McAllister's in this town is on the way to the airport, so I'll live.  Ohhhh, sweet tea.  :)

     4. This super nice, hilarious woman in my office and I were talking in the hallway this week, and she has a two year old who she just weaned...so, it's safe to say she's pretty familiar with pumping at work.  I was asking her where she pumped, and she yells across the room of cubicles to our secretary, "Connie, is the new lactation....oh, sorry (whispers)...is the new lactation room on the 5th floor?"  Oh how we laughed!  There was all sorts of talk about placenta, dropping baseball-sized clots, etc. later in the conversation.  I bet everyone was glad when we went back to work.

  • Sorry I missed the check-in guys. I've had a busy week. My weekend is nothing but studying, studying, studying, but on the bright side I will take my last exam EVER on Monday morning!!! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far.

  • Do I have to be pg to check in?  I'm hoping not, so here are my answers.  (Please feel free to tell me if I'm not supposed to respond!)

    1.  7 months and a few days pp

    2.  Highlight:  Scoring a ton of great kid books at Half-Price Books for not much money.  I am so excited to read them to DD! Also, finding out that my parents can fly in for the Baby Dedication at church.  Lowlight:  My grandma backing out of Easter plans at the last minute.  DD is named after her and I feel like we never get to see her b/c she's somewhat of a hypochondriac.  :(

    3.  Let's see...we checked out Castleton Mall today - very nice!  We also went to Ft. Harrison State Park to see if ILs should stay near there when they come to visit this fall.  We decided Brown County might be better.  Also had dinner out, which was fabulous.

    4.  My Mother of the Year story right here:  So DD felt warm all day but we just thought it was from riding in the car seat and not getting much air in the back seat.  Well, I realized at dinner that she wasn't cooling down so I took her temp when we got home and she has a 101 fever.  She was somewhat cranky today and had a runny nose but otherwise seemed OK.  We thought she was just teething.  Oops.  Tongue Tied

Not at all. I always find the where & how question odd to answer as well. I normally just saw how I am feeling. I hope DD is doing better now! Did the fever just clear up?

Thanks for letting me know!  :)

She seemed to be doing better this morning - no fever.  But we kept her out of the church nursery since she had one last night.  She's feeling warm again so I'll have to take her temp when she wakes up.  I'm hoping maybe it's just teething?  Poor kiddo.

It is sort of a weird question! If you're TTC you can put where you are in that process (eg 2ww), or your cycle day (CD) if you're charting. Or, you can always just put how you're feeling in general! We have had lots of people on this board who aren't pregnant/TTC/post-partum and our conversations definitely aren't limited to those topics!
