Dry skin?

Anyone else's LO have super dry skin?  We've been lotioning twice a day but her skin still feels like paper in places.  Could this be some sort of allergy?  Or should I lotion her more?

Re: Dry skin?

  • I've read that babies don't need lotion and it can cause dryness.  BUT, we do use lotion, but we use the Aveeno Soothing Relief Lotion, and I have noticed a difference in the rough patches on DS legs.

  • DS has really dry skin on his forehead (just like me.) We use Eucrine lotion on his head. When my SIL was a baby (only 7 years ago) she had really dry skin and that's what her pedi (now our LO's pedi) said to use for her so we are doing that now. I don't like how greasy it feels, but it seems to help so we are sticking with it for now.

  • Luke's face was really dry, and he had a bad case of infant acne.  I was using Aquafor at the advice of the pediatrician; it was clearing up the acne but wasn't helping the dry skin.  Someone on here posted something about California Baby Calendula Cream, so I ordered some, and it has done wonders for the dry skin and the acne.  Had everything cleared up within two days.

  • I put a little baby oil on his head for 3 days when he had cradle cap and it cleared right up!
