So just to share my info with those in the same boat (as I appreciate everyone else's experiences).
Back Story:Off BCP since August 10', Started trying for Baby #2 in October (so I am currently on cycle #7, ignore stupid siggy that I can't change please), Charting for my 6th cycle now and have seen an 8 day LP about every time with low post O temps, Plus my sister has been struggling for 4 years now with endo and hormone problems so there is a history in the family.
So I saw my OB yesterday with my last 4 charts printed from FF (thanks sooo much ladies for giving me that idea) and right away after flipping though he was like "Yep, you have a problem and we need to do some tests to see what is wrong". I was so happy that someone actually validated my concerns that I almost cried.
He took blood to check my thryoid and prolactin levels and then told me to come back next cycle for an HSG. I was very surprised that he did not want to begin with 7DPO Progesterone and day 3 B/W (I feel like that is what many of you have begun with right?). He said that he wants to also do SA on DH. Does this sound like the norm to you ladies?, I am surprised that he is doing an HSG right away but he did mention that I may have mild endo.
So happy to finally be on my way to seeing what is wrong.
Re: Finally saw OB for 8 Day LP issue (a little long)
I know what you mean about getting validation. When I saw my OB for LP issues and she put me on progesterone (prometrium) after seeing my charts, I was relieved as well. I am surprised that he isn't doing the 7dpo b/w to check progesterone levels. Did you ask about it? I am surprised that he is jumping straight to an HSG. Did he do any testing to see that this procedure is necessary?
The SA is pretty common to have done as an early testing method. My OB suggested my husband have one done at the same time she did my progesterone testing as well.
Good luck to you!
Sarah, I too thought that he was simply going to test my progesterone levels and then give me some suppliments. I did ask, twice, if he was going to do the progesterone testing and he said no. Hm...I wonder if I should call the nurse this week and double check on this? (as my Dr. was out and this was another Dr. in the practice) Or perhaps wait and see what the HSG comes back with and then ask again? This all just blows my mind because I already have DS and did not need "help" with him
Thanks ladies
