Poll: What kind of stretch mark oil/cream will you use?

Re: Poll: What kind of stretch mark oil/cream will you use?

  • I used to work at A Pea In a Pod and Mamma Mio was the most popular one. People swore by it. That's definitely the one I'm going to try.

  • Nothing. Like you said, stretch marks are genetic--- you'll either get them or you won't, no matter what you use. (People who say that a certain cream/oil/lotion "worked" for them were not genetically prone to getting them in the first place.)

  • I'll use whatever lotion I have lying around, and I say that because I only use it to help with the itching from stretching skin. There's no way to prevent stretchmarks.

  • Nothing. My twins ruined my skin, and no matter what I tried, lotion doesn't stop genetics. You can't prevent them with creams, sorry ladies.

  • I picked "other" because I didn't see "nothing" until it was too late. I use Eucerin Calming Creme every day because my skin gets super itchy. Once I start growing a little more, I will probably add in some baby oil gel at night to keep my skin moisturized (I really like the lavender scented).
  • Even if I *could* prevent them, I probably wouldn't bother.  I'll never expose my belly to anyone other than DH, and if he's okay with the fat I have now, he's not going to care about stretch marks.
  • I use cocoa butter all the time so I will just continue to use it because it is the only thing that works deep in when my skin is so dry and itchy plus the scent is pretty neutral and right now I can't stomach ANY scents to the point I had to buy like ivory soap

  • I actually disagree with the "genetics" comment. No one in my family on either side has stretch marks, and my mother didn't get any from her pregnancy with me. But I actually got the most bizarre set late into my teens ~18, long after my growth spurts! They are even on the back of my calves! I never gained/lost weight, and I am convinced it was a side effect of birth control. (I have been a size 0-2 since the age of 14, and still am at 25.) Since excess estrogen is associated with stretch marks, I plan on using virgin, organic, pressed coconut oil during my entire pregnancy! ;)
