Hi ladies! A few weeks ago my one friend who went through infertility issues recommended this site to me. I have been reading posts for quite some time but never posted anything until today. I know many of you have been trying for quite awhile...my husband and I have been trying for about 9 months with no luck. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and when I got that news, I was devastated. Since October I have been through numerous tests and recently began taking clomid. I took a round of 50 mg and a round of 100 mg with no response. The doctor is now putting me on femera and hcg shots. Has anyone had success with this treatment? I am taking provera right now to get AF (I haven't had it on my own since last July when I went off the pill). I am hoping that maybe we will have some success with the new medicine.
I've been trying really hard to stay positive, but it's extremely difficult. I just turned 30 last Sunday and that was very hard for me because I thought I would have kids before I turned 30. Not to mention, that all of my friends are having great success with getting pregnant including my sister-in-law. It's nice to be able to have women to talk to who are going through it. Everyone else of course says it will happen, but they have no idea what it is like taking so much medication, getting blood drawn, ultra sounds, etc. Sorry for venting...I look forward to talking to many of you!!
Re: Just joining...
Welcome! The boards can sometimes be slow on the weekends so I hope you come around more during the week so we can get to know you!
I'm sorry about your PCOS dx, however there are many ladies here (me included) with PCOS and a wealth of knowledge. Good luck with femara+hcg and I hope that does the trick for you and your H.
Welcome!
Turning 30 is not so bad, now.
Some of us are older than that.
Are you seeing an RE?
See my siggy for info for newbies.
Good luck!

RE is reproductive endocrinologist. From what you say here, I suspect you're already seeing one as they are "fertility specialists" however if it's just another obgyn who attached the term of fertility specialist behind their name, you might consider asking for another recommendation, specifically for a RE.
