July 2011 Moms

So proud of H

H has been a smoker for about 23 years now and has tried quitting many times in the past. The only time he was remotely successful was during USMC basic training because "if they had a minute to smoke, they had a minute to do PT instead". He tried the patch, cold turkey, help programs, etc. and the best he was able to do was to be cig free for a few days.

Thanks to his new e-cig he has now been tobacco free for 3 weeks and has no desire to go back to regular cigs. He's also been switching out the nicotine cartridge for non-nics every other day and starting to feel a lot better physically.

Yay H :)

  • That is awesome!!! I smoked for 10 years and it is hard to quit.
  • That is awesome! My DH has been a long time smoker too. He quit before our youngest was born and quit for over a year but then started again. :( I'm praying he miraculously quits before LO is here, but we're running out of time. Luckily he strictly smokes outside, but I feel like having to wash hands and change clothes just to hold your newest son would suck. Hopefully it will motivate him though.

  • My H got that. It was working but then he lost the charger and hasn't gotten a new one yet. He's been doing ok though. Work has been keeping him too busy and tired to smoke. It's more of a mind-over-matter thing with him. Congrats to you guys. Hope he continues to do well.

  • Good for him!  MH and I were both smokers.  My last cigarette was before I took the test November 10th.  Haven't had one since.  H is down to only bumming one every once in awhile if he's out at the bar.

  • FI has one of those. He hasn't touched a cigarette since the end of January. He did try one a couple weeks ago and said it was disgusting. It has been great for us! Good luck to your husband

  • That's awesome!  As a former smoker I can honestly say that quitting was the hardest thing I've ever done.  I'm glad something worked for him!
