When does it start? I hear and see different things when it comes to what week it begins. I really feel like I should know this, especially being a nurse...but there are really so many varying opions on it.

I forget what I counted as 2nd tri but I think it was 13w or sometime during that week. I know there are 3 different methods for calculating it, all depending on different dates..

Some say 12 weeks, some say 13 weeks, some say 13+3....

Sometime during wk 13 according to the chart my OB gives everyone.

I was wondering the same thing so thanks for asking this. I think I am going to go with the 13 weeks because I feel like 12 weeks is the end of first tri.

I did 13w3d, that way I was there by all methods. And really, 13w3d is 1/3 (if you forget the last day of the 40w) of 40w.

This is what my doctor said at my Tuesday appt when I asked. He said you take 40/3 = 13wk and a little over 3d.
