Not a second time mom, but I'm surprised how many people didn't use their wipes warmer. I'm really excited to get one, and put nice warm wipes on my baby's booty. Just curious - why weren't they used? Too much of a hassle or just easier to use regular?

I thought this was interesting too - we loved our wipe warmer, but we had a Feb baby in a 100 year old drafty house. I can how we probably won't use it for this one - a cool wipe to the tushy might feel nice and refreshing in Aug and Sept!
It's always interesting to me what some people end up not using. I know a lot of it depends on the baby. We used our Swaddle Me blankets, pacis, bouncer chair, Bumbo/Bebe chair and swing. Who knows what the next one will like.
I didn't use my Diaper Genie. It always smelled, no matter what we did.

My son was born in february also, but we still didn't use our WW--we returned it, unopened. My philosophy--why get him used to warm wipes, when in public, they'll be cold on his tush? He's never had an issue with cold wipes.

I use the bottle rack every day! Like you, I didn't use the carseat shoulder rest since they are unsafe.
Why are these unsafe? I have them on my registry
I found out after removing my LO's that any aftermarket ( didn't come with the seat) product you put on a car seat etc JJ cole bundle me's (which we used every single day) completely voids your carseats warranty and could even possibly cause a problem with your insurance company if there is an accident. We also used a newborn/ preemie extra head rest rather then roll up blankets since my LO's were tiny and rolled about in their seats w/o extra padding. Who knew????
The warmer was a PITA when you have a mess to clean up and a crying baby. And as someone above said, why get a baby used to warm wipes when they will get a not-so-warm wipe on their butt when they are not at home?
Ditto what the other poster said about the carseat additions. The fire department also told us that any toys on the carseat handle would cause insurance problems if we got into an accident or God-forbid had some other problem.
I did use the JJ Cole bundle me but I live in a horribly cold climate and gave in to using it.
Also with the wipes warmer some brands can dry the wipes out, some would cause the ones on bottom to turn yellow. I have also heard some of the warmers being a fire hazard back when I had my DD.
I thought of something! We registered for the Born Free and Doc brown's bottles. We used them for about 2 months and then I bought some Playtex drop-ins. Ahhhhhh! Best things ever! I wasted so much time washing the stinkin' $$$ fancy bottles (so many parts). I could have just used the Playtex drop-ins and only had to wash the nipples. Plus, the liners are recyclable.
I used the bottle rack but didn't register for one since I was BF. Of course, I forgot that I'd still need the rack when I pumped and DH fed DD I also still use my diaper pail.
As for bottle warmer, wipes warmer, and carseat shoulder rests - nope...didn't even bother registering for those.
Used most everything else on the registry, just not all at the beginning.
I used my drying rack all the time. I never used the bottle warmer. Like op stated some things for the car the fire/police will tell you to remove. I took out the seat protector that went under the carseat, as well as any mirror you would hang above their carseat so you can see them. They said it can just be another thing that can impact baby upon accident.
Also never used a pacifier, the boys never took them.
PP- anything you add to the seat compromises safety. You need the straps to be tight on the baby, one finger space between strap and shoulder, same reason why they shouldn't wear a coat in a carseat. Carseat handles should always be down when driving so any cute dangly toys aren't necessary when driving.
I did not have some of the items listed above but I also did not use my diaper genie. It seemed like a good idea but I never liked it. I will just use a sturdy trash can with a lid that I can use my foot to open.

I didn't use the bottle warmer because I ended up using the drop ins and you can't use them together I was told wipes warmers are fire hazards if you don't keep it moist or something so I opted out of that one. I didn't use my swaddle me, crib bumper, receiving blankets (she gets more use out of them now that she's 2 and uses them for her baby dolls lol) or the boppy! She hated the boppy lol

I didn't get one and my DD's butt is fine. Are you planning on changing your child out in the snow? The wipe warmer apparently dries the wipes out too.

The Baby Bjorn (DS hated it, so we gave it away to a friend in need)
Bottle sterilizer (used 1 time for each bottle, then had a friend in nursing who told me using the dishwasher would work just as well)
Never got a wipes warmer - didn't register for one because I had family that said there were a lot of issues with the wipes drying up, plus, if you're in public, the wipes would be cold anyway - might as well get them used to it)
Re: Second time moms, what didn't you use from registry?
