As a first time mom, I'm so eager to have our little guy, as I'm sure most of us are. At my last appointment, I measured 3 weeks ahead!?!. I've heard of this being normal as baby goes through growth spurts at certain points, etc. My question is, have you measure ahead and did the baby come early? How common is really?
Happy Saturday Bumbies!!
Re: When measuring big, does baby come early? 2nd+ time moms...help
I'm pretty sure no.
My sister was measuring big and gave birth 2 days after her due date. Her son was 9.1 lbs. So, you'll probably just have a big baby.
My son measured 2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy, and he didn't arrive until 39 weeks and 4 days.
So no...it doesn't always mean they will come early. It will just be a bigger baby, probably.
I measured small my entire first pregnancy, and so did DD. She was 2 weeks early.
So I guess you can't ever predict.
no.
your baby may not even be as big as estimated--a LOT of those estimates are way off--resulting in a lot of inductions due to "big babies" when the baby comes out at an average 7-8 lbs.
