Bump pain

Lately I've been noticing when I wake up in the morning that my bump is hurting and sometimes even when I try to lay on my side.  My bump is pretty big as I'm only 5' and have a very short torso so I think that may have something to do with it but is anyone else noticing this?  Is it something that is a cause for concern?  TIA!

Re: Bump pain

  • What type of pain? My belly gets a little sore when I'm lying on my side if I don't put a pillow underneath to prop it up.

Sore would be a good description.  It almost feels like I was laying on it the wrong way.  It goes away after a few minutes.  I can start out on my side just fine at night but once I wake up in the morning it's out of the question.

  • I have to put something under mine if I lye on my side now, when I go for my massage they give me something to go under it without me asking so I'm thinking that this is normal.

It's probably just a little sore from not being supported. If the pain is really bad you might want to bring it up at your next Dr. appointment. I definitely know what you're talking about though! I'm sure it's normal.

  • Ditto PPS on propping your belly up.  I use a body pillow and tuck it under my belly slightly, I've heard of a wedge pillow you can buy too.  I can only lay on one side, otherwise it hurts really bad, I had this with DS # 1 too.  It was evident when I was in labor with DS # 1 that that side was bad, his heart rate dropped when the nurse asked me to turn.
  • Thanks ladies!  I will have to try putting something under my bump tonight to see if that helps :)

  • I told DH that I find this too. I feel like my belly is gonna fall off some nights. It is actually worse before I fall asleep. And if I turn from one side to another. But goes away after a couple of minutes. N
