Katie's list & my own planning got me wondering what tips you all have / have heard from others!

I'll start! My cousin who is a nurse & mom of 2 boys recommended long/thin pads for day time & overnight, having disposable breast pads on hand & said hospital should provide tucks (for hemoriods)...

I have to see if my nursing tank tops are still good if so I will probably buy 1 more..I lived in these with DD,especially due to summer. Disposable pads for leaking, lots of pads for underwear, lanolin, comfy pajamas to fit my belly for afterwards. I think that is it for now...looking forward to everyone elses lists.

- pads (super thick ones)
- BFing stuff (breast pads, nipple cream, silicone cover things, nipple things you can heat or cool)
- Hemorrhoid pads
- Bottled water
- Granola bars and other quick to eat foods
- a couple nursing tanks (a side sling and a full sling to see what I like)
- witch hazel
- granny panties
- cottonelle wipes
- a short thin robe so I can wear it over my nursing tanks
- stool softener

that is all I can think of right now.

I think your list is a good place to start, but I would add a couple pairs of super granny panties incase you have a C section. I didnt think about where my underwear would have hit my incision, so I actually asked the nurse for an extra pair of the nasty throw away undies they give you at the hospiptal before I left so I had another day to run to walmart and buy some granny panties that sat above my incision. My nurse said that she has quite a few C Section moms that had the same worry.

The only thing I can think to add is a foot bath...my feet were swollen afterthe birth of my DD.

Nipple cream, pads, and seriously (I cannot emphasize this enough) stool softener and at least 1 enema. The first poop after baby is a b!tch. I cried, and I HAD an enema.

I also plan to wet some pads with witch hazel and put them in the freezer to soothe the bottom.

Have lots of snack bars and fruit on hand b/c you will inevitably get hungry as soon as you sit down to feed LO. And bendy straws. I don't know why they were so wonderful, but I remember being so grateful for them. I guess DH could give me drinks without me even having to sit up all the way, or when I was nursing side-lying.

Preparation H wipes- put them in the fridge and put them over your pads. Even if you don't get hemoroids, they help bring down the swelling you will have from the delivery.

Lanolin, lots of pads, and lots of breast pads and some reusable ones as well. Last time I was very unprepared and we had to stop on the way home and buy maxi pads. I have been picking up some comfy capris and shorts as well since it will be middle of the summer.
